About Hands

Make no bones about it, very often cliches do not have a leg to stand on.
He won hands down - Absurd! How can anyone win anything with their hands down. Don't take my word for it , ask any good boxer.
Cold hands, warm heart - Obviously this cliche does not refer to a corpse.
I have to hand it to you - Handing what? Is it a compliment? Is it sarcasm? Who is forcing me to hand over what? What if you don't want it? Just forget it!
Give him the back of the hand - Meant to show contempt or disdain but all I can visualize is a hard smack to the head with the back of the hand. A vicious way to show contempt.
Hand over fist - Anyone on Wall Street getting a bonus can speak to this.
Hand to mouth existence - Anyone on Wall Street not getting a bonus can speak to this
I know it like the back of my hand - Which prompts the response, you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground.

Judging from the above, cliches and hands go hand in glove!
Enough for anatomy!
