Hotter than a fox in a firestorm

Q: How hot is a fox in a firestorm

A: Do you mean 'hotter than a fox in a firestorm'? It's a cliche.

Q: OK, but what in hell does it mean?

A: It means in demand or very sexually appealing.

I'm buffaloed! A fox in a firestorm means in demand? The last I heard, a firestorm is a conflagration which attains such intensity that it creates and sustains its own wind system. That would be hot enough to toast a fox.

You're taking it much too literally.

Again, what's so demanding about a toasted or charred fox and what makes a hot fox sexually appealing.

Haven't you ever heard of a foxy broad?

Now we're getting someplace. I must admit a hot broad is sexually appealing and would be in demand. Not to belabor the point, but as cliches go, hotter than a fox in a firestorm sucks!

To each his own!
