Kiss it goodbye

There are many ways to describe a home run during a baseball game; "he hit a home run" is not one of them. Any play by play announcer worth his salt has a home run cliché in his bag of bull. They can range from the simplistic, "it's out of here" to the stilted, "it's gone to souvenir city" . If the ball is sailing over the fence into the parking lot, "Holy Cow" will suffice. A less subdued, "forget it", signifies that the visitors are playing long ball. A screaming shot which clears the loaded bases warrants a loving, "kiss it goodbye".
