Down In The Dumps

Ironically, death has given birth to a number of cliches starting with "his days are numbered". Needless to say, our days are actually numbered at birth but the numbers mean little until we are at death's door. We know we are at death's door when we start looking like death warmed over. Once death's door opens, push comes to shove. Looking like death warmed over gives way to being dead as a mackerel. If we choose not to make a stink, we can opt for being deader than a door nail. The moral of this story is that we are all living on borrowed time. A word to the wise should be sufficient.
